We’re very exited about the Six Degrees of Community project, not that we’re not excited by all our projects, but this project in-particular hits home our core values when it comes to online video. The project is a collaboration in every way possible. We’ve teamed up with Eric Leslie (@BeOnScene) of On Scene, JAM Sessions, and the Historic Dublin Business Association (of which, Eric is President). The City of Dublin gave us initial funding to get the ball rolling and produce a pilot episode, and the rest of the project will be funded by partners and sponsors.

From a video perspective, the project is an eight webisode series beginning May 15th and wrapping up September 8, 2009. From an overall content perspective it will be transparent documentation of the ups and downs (mostly ups, hopefully) of community and collaboration.

We’re ecstatic that the Dublin Community has jumped at the opportunity to be our partner in what we consider a progressive documentary project highlighting the ins and outs of what ties a Mid-Western community together.

Keep up with the conversation and view more content on the website and Facebook.

After learning about abominations that were going on in the United States and around the world, recording artist Heather Evans felt the need to do her part to raise awareness of Human Trafficking. Heather organized friends, family members, and fans to be a part of this audio/visual tool that will hopefully push people to learn more about the problem of Human Trafficking and find their way to make an impact.

Begin learning at Love146.com

———————————————————-

We shot this video in the Summer of 2009 and waited to release it until National Human Trafficking awareness day 1.11.10. Here’s a look at behind the meaning of the video:

And here are a few images from Heather debuting the video at Ohio’s Statehouse:

Kudos to Coca-Cola for diving head first into social media and actually doing it the right way. I was unfamiliar with Expedition 206 until I read the article about it on Mashable yesterday. Basically they’ve “hired” three well traveled, media savvy communicators to go on the trip of lifetime and tell all of us about it.

Cristina Warren of Mashable reports this project was generated from the top down and spear-headed by Senior VP of Global Affairs Clyde Tuggle. “Tuggle made it clear that Coke knows that they don’t own the brand — the consumers own the brand. Thus, who better to trust to spread the message of happiness than those consumers?”

Very refreshing to hear a major brand like Coke take a hands-off progressive approach (which is really the only good approach) to branding in the Social Media market.

Follow, friend and watch the Expedition 206 team on Twitter, Facebook, Vimeo and their own site.

A quick list (via Identity PR) of the 25 most frequently asked questions with respect to social media, to which (all) the answer is a resounding NO:

1 – Will this increase my sales, directly?

2 – Can you (my agency) do this all for me?

3 – Will I see results in 30 days?

4 – Isn’t it all about selling and marketing?

5 – Should I just talk about how great my company and/or new product or service is?

6 – So, what I’m doing is sending out “status updates”?

7 – Can I expect to have thousands of fans for my B2B professional services firm on Facebook?

8 – Should I blindly contact everyone I know (and even those I don’t) and ask them to follow or fan me?

9 – Our Web site isn’t that great. Can we get started anyway?

10 – Should I ignore negative interaction and delete negative comments on my blog?
